Today was mostly a waiting day. Matthew's blood pressure is lower than they would like but stable. He is also pretty puffy from excess fluids. Being on the bypass machine for as long as he was caused him to swell and now his body must expel the fluids before they can start removing tubes. The doctors added a drain line after a chest Xray revealed some fluid gathering near his heart. They drained quite a bit out from that tube when it was first installed. Matthew was a champ through it all (he is pretty heavily sedated still).
I'm going to go in and sit by his bedside and then try to get some sleep tonight. Hopefully we will have some good news to pass on tomorrow.
